About Buttonberry Designs

I am Kim Kempf, owner of Buttonberry Designs. I am a wife, mom of many sons, country girl, follower of Jesus, and lover of any and all fabric. I have been in the interior design field for over 25 years, with a focus on creating window coverings and home accessories.
I began sewing as a young girl, taught by my mom, who was frequently changing the décor in our farmhouse. It was amazing to watch! She sewed curtains, valances, painted walls and furniture, always studying Better Homes and Gardens. After much begging, she taught me how to sew on her sewing machine and that started a lifelong journey of creativity with fabric, needle and thread.
My deep love for all things vintage definitely came from my grandma. She collected antiques for many years, and remembered the story of each treasured piece. So now I consider my work to be a tribute of sorts to them, and the love of beautiful things that they passed on to me.
That is the reason why I love creating custom keepsake items for my clients: so that they can have a lovely item that will remind them of their own story.
This verse is very meaningful to me as I strive to serve my clients:
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us,
And establish the work of our hands for us;
Yes, establish the work of our hands.
Psalms 90:17
